As a young immigrant whose family had no knowledge of or experience with the U.S. higher education system, I had little guidance during my own college search. Left to my own devices, and through the advice of a well-intentioned family friend, I was fortunate to find an institution that turned out to be exactly what I needed, which was a nurturing and enriching environment that challenged and supported me in important ways and profoundly shaped my future trajectory. This transformative experience ignited my passion for higher education and inspired me to make a career-long commitment to guiding others through their own journeys.
